1. Who we are
A-level Maths Tutor Uk ("we", "us", "our") operates the Edexcel Topic Predictor. We are the data controller for the personal data described in this notice.
2. Personal data we collect
- Account data: name, email address, password (hashed).
- Profile data: exam sitting, subject choices, study preferences you provide.
- Usage data: pages viewed, predictions generated, feature interactions, timestamps.
- Device & technical data: IP address, browser type, device identifiers, logs.
- Support data: messages you send us when contacting support.
- Order data: handled by Paddle as Merchant of Record (see section 5).
3. Why we use your data & legal basis
- Provide the Service (account creation, login, predictions) — performance of our contract with you.
- Customer support — legitimate interests in responding to you.
- Security & fraud prevention — legitimate interests in protecting the Service and users.
- Product improvement & analytics — legitimate interests in improving the Service.
- Legal & tax compliance — compliance with legal obligations.
- Marketing emails — only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
4. Who we share data with
- Service providers / sub-processors — hosting, database, email and analytics providers acting on our instructions.
- Paddle.com — our Merchant of Record. Paddle handles the sale, payment, subscription management, tax compliance and invoicing for purchases on the Service.
- Professional advisers — accountants, auditors and lawyers where needed.
- Authorities — where required by law or to protect our rights.
5. Paddle as Merchant of Record
When you buy access to paid features, the transaction is processed by Paddle.com, who is the Merchant of Record. Paddle independently collects and processes payment information (such as card details and billing address) under its own privacy notice. We receive a limited subset of order data (such as email, country, and transaction reference) to deliver the product to you.
6. International transfers
Some of our service providers may be located outside the UK / EEA. Where data is transferred internationally, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, EU Standard Contractual Clauses, or an adequacy decision.
7. Data retention
We keep your account and usage data for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards to comply with legal, accounting and dispute-resolution obligations. After that, data is deleted or anonymised.
8. Your rights
Subject to applicable law (including UK GDPR), you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to processing of your personal data, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. UK / EEA users also have the right to complain to a supervisory authority (e.g. the UK ICO). We aim to respond to requests within one month.
9. Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures — including encryption in transit, access controls, and hashed passwords — to protect your personal data.
10. Cookies
We use a small number of essential cookies (and similar technologies) to keep you signed in and to keep the Service secure. If we add non-essential analytics or marketing cookies in future, we will ask for your consent and provide controls to manage your preferences.
